Exyn Technologies (NASDAQ: EXYN, EXYNW) announced on August 20, 2026 that its Board of Directors has appointed Ben Williams, the company’s Chief Operating Officer, as Interim Chief Executive Officer, and Gregory McNeal, an independent director, as Chairman of the Board, effective August 19, 2026. The appointments follow the resignation of Brandon Torres Declet as CEO and Chairman.

Exyn builds autonomous mapping and perception-driven navigation for GPS-denied environments: underground mines, tunnels, industrial facilities, and increasingly military settings. The release frames the leadership change around the company’s push into defense and national security, citing an agreement supporting autonomous aircraft inspection at the Air Force’s Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex, the selection of Nexys by a U.S. government research organization after a competitive evaluation, an ongoing Green UAS certification, and a new Defense Advisory Board whose first member is former Pentagon official and Green Beret Andrew Knaggs.

Williams has run Exyn’s operations since 2019 and served as interim CEO once before, from June to November 2023. He spent nearly six years as a Navy officer, including two combat tours, helped establish Lockheed Martin’s New Ventures division, and co-founded Reelio, which Fullscreen Media acquired. McNeal, an Army Signal Corps veteran, chairs Exyn’s Defense Advisory Board, co-founded AirMap, and served as Executive Chairman of SailPlan through its acquisition.

“As a newly public company, we are continuing to strengthen our internal controls, financial procedures, and oversight functions to ensure they match the caliber of our technology and the trust our shareholders place in us. Disciplined execution and rigorous governance will define Exyn going forward.”

Williams said the company is focused on “expanding software and subscription revenue, and scaling ExynAI across commercial and defense markets.”
